I love the composition in terms of the 'pose' and angle of the head, only possible change might be in terms of the background as the fence (for me) detracts a touch (especially the white support strut and the diagonal which intersects the dogs head. Not sure if you could have got more Bokeh and kept the image at the quality it is though, but if you couldnt then maybe a background which had a more repetitive 'pattern' to it which (I think) would have made the subject stand out more |

2 - Seeking the Lightby JutildaComment by krnodil: Very nice - I like how the flowers emerge from the darkness and how well they are composed to fan out across the top of the image. I'm not sure how well the bottom part of the image works though - I think it's because that part of the image might be "too" low key - I presume it's a vase of some sort, but I can't really see enough of it to get the gist, as I can with the flowers. But you know what, it's really not that big of an issue - it makes the viewer really stop and stay with your image, trying to figure out what they're seeing.
Great job. :)

My only thought is I'd like to have seen the full dogs (front paws and all - GRIN!) |

I know you were going for a dark feel, and i think it definately works, however i think if the highlights on the dog were just slightly brighter it would give him/her more definition and a stronger presence.
Good shot. |

i'm sure it is straight, but the post in the background keeps unbalancing me a little.
but overall it's a great portrait of the dog. |
