Skip mentioned not being connected more due to a lack of emotion, yet the longer I sit and study this, the connection strengthens, wondering what's going on behind those beautiful eyes. I would have never paid any attention to the close proximity to the background had I not read it below, and even then, still don't really see it, as her gaze and those golden locks of hair keeps my attention.

Guess I'm saying I can't find fault in this wonderful portrait Judy.

Great job! really like this portrait. The softness and tones are wonderful, so is the choice of duotone. Wouldn't imagine it working better in b/w. Would only perhaps try to darken the bottom left corner a bit. It kind of distracts the eye a bit from the cat's eyes and darker tones of the rest of the image.
