I know this was shot through the glass of the fish tank... which *is* transparent.. so the challenge has been met... there is also some transparency in the fins and tail of the fish, but overall, I would like to see stronger interpretations... = 4 - jmsetzler

Suspend the fighter from a tree with black thread and shoot at an angle so that you can see the stars. Get back far enough that you have to use the zoom so you get plenty of Depth of Field. Light it with a porch light or flashlight and do not use flash. Make sure there is no wind to avoid motion trails.

Flash is too harsh. Try some indirect or diffused lighting. Try not to light your background. The wrinkles in the cloth make it appear cheap. Try different angles on your subject, dead on from the left, right, top, bottom, front or back is never gonna look as good as a diagonal view. Try not to stick your subject smack dab in the middle. Look up "rule of thirds".
