This is Elvis, the last to leave the box. Unlike its two siblings, which first flew to the deck rail and then the trees, Elvis missed the rail, wound up on the deck, then tried to fly through the roof of our gazebo to defeat gravity before resting on another deck rail for 5 minutes before finding this branch on the other side of the yard from its siblings. It sat there for 2 hours, even through my lawnmowing, just looking around, taking in everything this "outside the box" world had to offer, all while its parents divebombed potential predators, like the Blue Jays that had taken two baby bluebirds from the box the week before.

I shot video of them leaving and as each new face sticks its head out of the hole for the first time it's hard not to imagine them thinking, "Holy moly, look at all this stuff!!", after only having seen blue sky and the back of the neighbor's house for their entire lives. The exit took about 45 minutes and I've was able to compress it to 15. You can hear my D500 whirring away in the background, but better yet you can hear the call and response of parent and baby luring them out.
