Ouch! is he alright? I like the flare of the sparklers and especially the smoke, but the background is a bit crowded... Of course posing him with a less crowded background and saying "Ok, burn your eye again" would not have been an option. I think with the aid of Printshop type software to blur the background, this might be a great shot.

A creative idea, and definitely conveys a message. I feel this is only peripherally connected to the theme, though, since there's no real emphasis on the way a transparent object affects light.

Please use a polorizing filter if possible (I am going out to buy one very soon), it will help with the lights reflecting in the glass. Poor babies, did you order one? Was it tasty? (I know it would have been EXPENSIVE) Photo 8 Transparency 7 total 7 swash
