UR outakes.jpgby RasaiComment by Rasai: This was a contact sheet that I put together showing exactly 2 subjects thinking that an old camera with digital film or a new camera with a roll of film might be perceved as 'unrelated' If you consider species that are totaly unrelated their mating does NOT produce 'off spring', nor would the mating of the 2 subjects in the photo produce a 'photo. |

Color saturation and hue are very good. Focus and depth of field are excellent. I really like your use of depth of field to isolate the subject from the rest of the picture.
I would have liked a little more light/detail at base of the tree. Not much, because I like the contrast. But just a little because the longer I look at the picture, the dark area starts turning into a hole in the photograph. And in the end the contrast of the darkness at the bottom and the background, starts to compete with the tree itself.
The tree and base appear a little oversharpened to my eye. The edges of the leaves on the left are starting to get halos.
Overall a very nice photo that I enjoyed. |

Young at 37 yearsby RasaiComment by eschelar: Nice pic. I suspect it's a tiny bit oversharpened, but I think that is probably due to using the wrong sharpening settings for 640x480. Pics are a lot more sensitive to sharpening at this resolution.
One thing that I find helps prevent the data loss and subsequent need for strong sharpening in small sizes is using multiple steps for reducing size. I don't know if you did this or not, but if you didn't, you might want to look into it. |
