Do I know you?by MarkComment by suemack: Hi Mark, greetings from the Critique Club :-)
Initial thoughts
A clever, fun shot, creative and interesting.
Composition
Great perspective, good composition. Well thought out idea and different....well done!!
Camera technique and editing
Excellent focus both on the balloon and brother. I would have loved to have seen a bit more even light on his face...he has such a great expression but with the shadows you don't really notice it. Colours on the balloon are good, though working with levels, brightness/contrast and curves does bring out an added vibrancy to the shot.
Fits the challenge
Yep, definitely fits the challenge.
Personal opinion
I really like this shot. A very different, creative and well thought out approach to the challenge. Personally I would have tried a slightly different crop... just above the beginning of the left sleeve (arm hanging down), and moved him very slightly to the right of the frame. To me it seems to emphasize the connection between him and the balloon....but that's just my thoughts. Look forward to seeing more of your work!!

Markssaxsmall.jpgby MarkComment by ttreit: Anything you can do to get the "genie version" to pop out more from the background will help. A little more 3-D there should look really cool. Maybe a bit of shadow?
Great idea/concept/execution as is though. I hope they love it and good luck! |

Markssaxsmall.jpgby MarkComment by saintaugust: fix the problem on your arm on left under sleeve (uneven), bump up the brightness a bit on the 'genie' version of yourself and it'll be great.

Markssaxsmall.jpgby MarkComment by ibkc: I dunno if this is possible or not, but on your right arm of the sax player in the background, you got a little photoshop on you right below your sleeve. Don't know if you can back up and take that out or not though. I've just always wanted to say "you've got a little photoshop on you" |

Markssaxsmall.jpgby MarkComment by saracat: Definately creative! Only thing I see at first glance is that the skin tones are so different...you'd probably have to correct that before merging the 2 pics, though (I'm not the good at PS, so I don't know!). Otherwise...It's a really neat picture. |

Markssaxsmall.jpgby MarkComment by ibkc: I honestly think they will be impressed. It shows not only that you are talented in photography and photoshop, but also in the playing an instrument as well. I give it two thumbs up. Hope you get in! |
