This image is just lacking in lighting, it throws the whole thing off. Also, you have two bullets in good focus, two slightly softer, then that first one on the left is just to far out of focus. Something you may not have thought is the normal person reads from left to right. Even when looking at photos the eye looks from the left to right of the photo, so of course first thing you see is that out of focus bullet and it just ruins the rest of the image.

As for meeting the challenge I am the wrong person to answer that as I personally have a big dislike for anything related to guns. I don't believe it to meet the challenge as guns are anything but simple, however to others they would feel it meet. I would say work on the lighting and you could get a good photo out of this.

Thank you all for your comments. I was experimenting with my camera and was trying to get a 'simple' shot. I know it isn't a very interesting subject, but it was as simple as I could find. I agree it is a little grainy, but I am just starting out and trying to get better. That is how I learn, by trial and error. Thanks again!

this is one of those occasions that I wish I could see the fotog's comments as I was voting. I'm sure this meets the challende somehow & wished that I could get some help in figuring it out. The border or crop is a bit off but other than that seems like an okay shot technically.
