Very cute image. I think you might do better with a little more DOF so the front area is in focus.

I still feel that for the unique architectual characteristic of this building you are trying to capture too much here. I would suggest to minimize, but don't eliminate, even more the absolute part of this comp (the top right) to emphasize the available reflections.

dizzy and bizzy! Of the three, I like the second one. I agree with teach - the reflection in the top part of this comp may be a subject by itself.

This has nice lighting. I wish the squirrel weren't so centered. Maybe follow down the wooden plank with him at the end for a bit more visual interest, or just less of a crop on one side. I like the twinkle in his eye. hee hee Good DOF. THe gray/blue of the wood is a nice contrast to his warm brown and yellow tones. Overall, nice capture. 7

Cute squirell. This picture will probably have the same problem in voting as mine. The pictures main focus doesn't appear to be the wood.

This is my favorite of the three pics...it's very effective with just the glass windows behind the church...the image does look a little skewed, or maybe it's the angle..but I like it a lot.

Thanks, Banmorn. Yes, the far building is sometimes known as the "jukebox Mariott" or the "Wurlitzer Mariott" by locals. You're right, it does have some interesting details that are fun to play with. The top floor is a cocktail lounge with fabulous views of the bay area. The smoked glass up there makes it difficult to get any photography, tho. ;>(

This is very nicely framed in the lower left by the trees which do not seem intrusive at all in the image. There is a nice flow to the angle you chose and I agree very much about the fine composition. If the Marriot is the far building, it has some great possibilites due to its rather eclectic design. I certainly could see one not liking it depending on how a sore a thumb it might be against the rest of its environs. But it is a fascinating building to me. Glad you shot it despite your opinion of it. Like the colors of this series very much.

Have to agree. The original orientation would look much better, I think. Really like the design color contrasts of this and the angle. Really is a very good abstract. Not sure how to improve this other than a 90 degree rotation left. I like the shapes and colors of the blue/beige bulding enough that I do not mind them seeming to over power the other building. You might want to think about bringing out the reflections in the building on the upper left which I am fairly certain you could do by selecting that area and boosting the levels/curves and and contrasts a bit. Nice work.
