The Bonanzaby sfaliceComment by hajeka: Nice to see all the poles and lines. Gives me a holiday feeling :) Except for the high voltage lines (and the train stuff), everything is buried here also. Just wondering in which year this photo was made. Could be this year, but it looks somewhat older. |

OMW I'd not want to be the electrician that deciphers all of that horrid spaghetti. Any reason why the shot details are awol? Wide angle distortion emphasises those triffids but makes the cars look a bit stretched. It's not such a bad thing, it adds that feel to it that the Masai Woman have going on with their neck rings. Madness I tell you. |

Those trees look like they are standing in salute to the flag. The shot has high potential but it needs a few things to strengthen the composition. First off I am guessing that the original file size was large - any time you have to take it down to a small file size it loses sharpness and detail. Minimal editing doesn't allow a two resize down but it does allow for sharpening twice (or more if you wish but then you run the risk of oversharpening). Second, I think the composition would be stronger if you composed it on a vertical to follow and complement the vertical lines of the trees and the flag pole. Also if it was possible a zoom (I realize sometimes you have to work with what equipment you have and/or cannot get physically closer) in to bring us closer to the main subject always is a bonus. Lastly, the composition would be stronger if the flag was blowing in the wind. Maybe you could have waited for that moment...then again maybe Mother Nature was refusing to cooperate and unfurl the flag for you. |

City-Streetby sfaliceComment by HarveyG: 10.5mm? Does make for unusual images. I like to counter the distortion by playing with the composition or POV. Not always possible of course. Topaz has added a few lines, almost sketch like. Those wires! Do we really need them in our lives?! Messy jungle with some pretty architecture behind. Is there a UV or glass filter on your lens. Take it off and see if you continue to get this blueish/purple CA fringing on contrasty areas. |
