Color wildby PepetteComment by floyd: Focus on the beak spoils slightly an otherwise excellent shot. 7 - floyd |

Color wildby PepetteComment by Cantique: Wild is right. Great color. My only complaint is that his breast is out of focus. But his face is perfect. Lovely bird. |

Color wildby PepetteComment by Pug-H: Unusual blue fringing on the chest feathers, never seen that before (compare the other shot of rainbow lorikeets). Greta photo, all the same. |

PAINTED PEARby PepetteComment by inspzil: Greetings from the Critique Club
By Inspzil
Composition - General composition of this photo is excellent. Nice pear and good water drops. The little gleam in the water drops really adds a nice element to this photo. The color of the pear is great. Its not to scarred up or anything and it makes it a little more interesting that being just plain green. I think the framing on this one would've helped to make this a little more successful photo. I don't like the dead on centered look and the landscape orientation. It would've looked better portrait. Even a little more headroom wouldn't hurt a thing. When I look at this, I feel like the pear should be favoring the left side of the frame so to bury the dark side and give some room to the bright side. Then I think, this photo was over 6.5, someone must know more than me because I didn't get that...
Technical - Stunning really. Very well taken with excellent lighting. Good color depiction, not much else to say.
Overall - This photo got a good score and deserved every bit of it. Take any advice I have to give with a grain of salt... Really, what do I know. But I'd be remiss if I had an opinion and didn't offer it, right wrong or otherwise. Good job with this photo. Bob |
