What'cha mean you are following the white rabbit? by kasabaComment by kasaba: Originally posted by Lydia: I hope my suggestion will not offend you, Gaby.
I wish that the view from the hole were darker... with shadows coming up on the dogs.
In my opinion, the under side of the hole would all be dark. We're looking up from a hole, right? And holes are dark?
So... the underside of the soil would not be seen. And there would be shadows under the dogs's chins. Maybe just a hint of detail in the soil?
I dunno... I'm just speculating.
I still think the image is totally adorable and fun! |
Not offended at all Lyda! Thank you for taking the time to crit and write. I was running out of time, when I was working on it in post I thought it would have been better to photograph the inside of a tube of some type instead of the flat surface. That would have given the feeling of the "hole" much better. Hindsight and all that :-).
I was using a flash to photograph the dogs, I tried without it, but it was too dark or the sky was totally blown. Also the fuzzy coat is very unforgiving with lower shutter speeds, I mean really unforgiving :-). This being dpc I know how much a sharp image is valued ;-). Maybe I should have used a reflector on the bottom and used a flash from the top? Never thought about that before.
thanks for your comments, can't say I disagree with what you said :-).
