This definately meets the challenge it is soft. But for as soft as it is one thing stands out to me as just being to soft, the eyes. With the dogs coloring and the soft focus you lost the dogs eyes. I think had you been able to pull more detail around the dogs eyes the photo would have been outstand.

Gods Little Blessingby wwjdwithcaComment by wwjdwithca: This shot I'm pretty amazed at how low it scored. Not that I can't see why, but just suprised. Technically the setup has it's issues, that's for sure, and certainly can be downgraded because of that, so I'm not complaining.
It's just that catching a baby smilling in his sleep on film is pretty unusual, and considering I shot it hand-held with an on-camera flash I was happy with how it turned-out. Then the blurr added to the feel of him sleeping.
Spontaneity doesn't seem to get much credit 'round here. OK. Live and learn. |

Swimming is so Relaxing!by wwjdwithcaComment by wwjdwithca: Really entered this pic to prove a point about the Propaganda challenge. It's not really a very good capture, really just a high quality snap-shot, yet it almost scored as well my Progranda image!
But it's straight forward. Nothing subtle here, bright colors, and meets the challange very well.
It's really not that I think this photo deserved worse, it's just that I think "Road Signs Never Lie" deserved so much better. This entry really shows that Road Signs was in fact "hammered" by voters thinking that it didn't meet "their" criteria of what propaganda is and in that case, isn't.
Anyway, I proved my point ( I think), so I'm finally moving on. |

Gods Little Blessingby wwjdwithcaComment by Imagineer: What a little cutie! This picture will never win a ribbon and neither is it technically good, but with subject matter like this - who cares?! No wonder you're grateful. :) |

Prideby wwjdwithcaComment by MWitt: I love Akita's! Had one myself. He passed away of old age a few years back. Best, Smartest dog I ever had.
Good composition and colors.
There is a difference between DOF and soft focus and it looks like I'm going to have to subtract a point for that. |
