	The Shortest Day by Warby Comment by unbreakable: I like the emotion this evokes. I can't tell whether the man is depressed or hopeful and I really like the implied religious tone with the crosses on the sill.

	The Shortest Day by Warby Comment by streetpigeon: Beautifully tells a story of a wary man surviving the dark mysteries of the solstice with his Christian amulets. In his thick-walled but still chilly room, peering out the window, the old days and old ways are not forgotten. My favorite of the challenge.
