An Unexpected Callby cheekymunkyComment by srbrubaker: So, is this a kind of 'I need to call the President but I'm out of quarters' pain of Dr. Strangelove vintage or 'I can't believe what I'm hearing at the other end of the line' kind of pain? The question makes the photo more interesting. It's an interesting concept and, for the most part, it is nicely executed - the motion of the receiver, the wrinkles in the jeans, the open hand, the wedding ring. But I find it annoying or distracting that the line of the work surface passed through the hand. It strips the hand of most of its expressive power.

Lost IIIby cheekymunkyComment by wkmen: I like this one best of your "Lost" shots, if not for that flare. Couldn't you clone that out? The off-center inclusion of the road, the winter's sun making the confusion of trees look different but alike, that really says "lost" to me. The darker midtones adds to the atmosphere, too. Exposure and focus are great. |

Winter Devon Iby cheekymunkyComment by wkmen: Excellent exposure and focus. I think I would like it better in a square presentation, knocking ~95 pixels off the top and ~45-50 off the bottom. That would keep my eyes off the details in the foreground, and minimize the more uniform cloud cover at the top. A great shot, one to be proud of. |

Evening at Three Cliffs Bay IIby cheekymunkyComment by wkmen: I like the composition of this photo a lot. The scene is beautiful. The only criticism I could offer is that no single area seems to be sharply in-focus. Maybe a little camera shake going on, but it appears that you were on cliff's edge, so who could fault that? |
