Government meets Business in downtown Ottawaby RyanWComment by Alex_Petrini: Originally posted by RyanWareham: After this shot I learned how to properly expose and shoot night scenery.
Lighting on building was hard to adjust due to floodlights from work crews.... it looked better on camera screen so I was happy at the time.
Think hdr could've helped this if I had shot some various exposure shots.... |
You don't necessarily need an HDR to achieve a good result. In this kind of shots it's better to shoot during the blue hour after sunset when the equilibrium between light and darkness is perfect.
Moreover here you could fix the distorsion of the buildings. |

It's lonely at the topby RyanWComment by RyanW: Camera diopter out of focus slightly causing carpet to gain the focus.... couldn't get dog back in place with same look so I went ahead with it hoping people wouldn't be overly harsh (and they were not, so thank you!!) |

The Essence of Canadaby RyanWComment by Ja-9: love the clarity and landscape...but I think that because this was shot at (or near) the height of the day it is quite harsh in the lighting... |

The Essence of Canadaby RyanWComment by Denielle: Pretty shot. Seems a little basic (color wise). But that's not a bad thing. It just goes to show the viewer the beauty that is seen with the naked eye. Nice composition (though I think I would have included the entire boat, and not cut off the bottom). But very serene shot. |

Gears of Warby RyanWComment by RyanW: Admittedly I didn't have a macro lens or filters at the time, seeing the other entries I realize how necessary that was to have something. Still, first challenge and not absolute last, I'll accept that and get better from here on out. |
