LIke it. Do I see the flash in his eyes? Still really like. My favorite of all the portraits in this challenge.

I can't tell if she isacting or not, so that's very good. The expression is right. The photo is generally well done too, though I wish you had a bit more at the top and the light blue object in the background were'nt there.

Did you just tell her she can't go out this weekend? She looks like she's about to cry, not sure why though.

The cropping took off her forehead and her chin, would have like a tighter crop on the left and higher on the top and bottom. Started at a 6, going to a 7

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

This photo seems to meet the challenge without much problem at all. I think it falls short photograpically for one primary reason. The image contains no depth or texture. These elements certainly are not requirements for a photograph, but they do seem to work nicely together to create more visual appeal.

I also think the depth of field here may be too shallow and in the wrong place. I can't really do anything but guess at that since the exposure data isn't posted with the image.

The score you received seems to indicate that the general population did not find a high level of interest in the image. I think the composition and subject choice probably contributed to that. It's rare that two-dimensional images do well here. You need that third dimension of depth :)

Nice shot - I'd class that as much shock as surprise, but that's a subset of the same thing, so.... Very nicely set up. The depth of focus may be a bit shallow - the near eye is very crisp, the one further away a bit blurry as it's already starting to go out of focus, which seems somewhat odd.

Focus - if you used a tripod you either bumped it or it is too flimsy. Can imagine the aroma though.

Lovely head shot. So clean and sharp. My only suggesion would be to exclude the blue thing in the background and adjust the colours slightly to fix the greenish cast on her hair. Funny, she looks like she is ready to crack up :-))
