Some how my eye is being led to the top of the rose, which is uninteresting. IMO, the placement of the stick and smoke make the eye move there..

Lots of good things - placement of light, impression of steel, and real roughness of texture in the background paper(?). Unconvinced by the processing, unconvinced by the conposition - the angling of it all seems arbitrary to me, and the mangling of pixels likewise - don;t see what you gain. Some sense of viciousness? Sharpness would better be expressed in a cleaner shot i think, and the loop of the handle being out of shot annoys me.

good idea, focus is a bit out tho! i would say it needs to be a little less bright in the top right hand corner and the focus needs to be adjusted a little.

This is definetely an interesting angle, I really enjoy your approach. The stuff at the end though is distracting from the overall feel of the picture, kind of throw off the balance. Good luck!
