Comment by BeefnCheez:
There is something odd and intriguing about this. Odd tree; center crop; moody style. Not sure if the fence, clouds, left portion of the photo hurt or balance the photo.

Beautifully suggestive. Just enough shadow detail.

edit: oh, I should mention this was my first time going out with the camera.

It's great. I didn't need another camera either =). I wanted a good lens for street shots though, and the x100 is cheaper than either the canon 24mm or 35mm f/1.4's (aright, it's f/2 and not weather sealed) - I got a referb direct from fuji uk for £500 though complete with full warranty, so it's hard to argue with that for what is essentially a brand new camera.

Pro's for me are:
+The form factor and virtually silent shutter mean you can take a picture right in someone's face and they won't even flinch (or often know).

+It's (jacket) pocketable.

+Noise control is really good (I'd say probably better than the 550D - but then the sensor is very marginally larger, being x1.5 crop vs the 550D's x1.6) and the fuji raw files are great to work with.

+Colour reproduction seems really good, not that I'm the biggest fan of colour =).

+It looks great.

Cons:
-Buttons on the back feel cheap.

-Manual doesn't explain the cameras features properly/thoroughly and the interface isn't the most intuitive (e.g. manual iso selection and auto iso toggle menus are about 10 button presses away from each other - Really Fuji??).

-Parallax errors in the optical view finder when taking close up shots.

-Manual focus isn't possible except to set up zone focusing.

All in all, if you want a good quality camera for travelling, a (slightly large) take-anywhere, are looking at buying an (effective focal length) 35mm lens or want a camera for street photography, I'd really recommend trying one out - from what use I've got out of it so far I'm not sure there's a better choice than the x100 at any price point (alright, I'd love an m9, but it's pretty big). I'm on holiday next week and will be taking it with me in place of my dslr, so I may have some more test shots when I get back.

Wow, that light is stunning. How's that x100? I quite liked the look of that (even though I do not need another camera)

This looks good. Generally the images I take on my T2i at 3200 ISO are noisy as hell.
