Memory Lane by lobrinComment by Jutilda: His hunched over posture really adds to the sad mood. I like it. The use of diagonal is perfect. |

Matureby lobrinComment by Ecce_Signum: Greetings from the Critique Club Louie and my personal thoughts on your image.
Whilst I pay attention to titles and their interaction with the image and challenge it doesn't sway my score but sadly I don't get how this fits the euphemism challenge?
I really like the crop, composition and the oof parts on the right help draw me back into the main image. The tone and lighting are also very nice as is the black and white treatment, this is a very good candid portrait image imho.
I'm wondering if the black background was made 'blacker' in post processing? his mouth, neck, ear and specks on his cheek don't look quite right to me (too black). As it was an advanced challenge maybe a little Gaussian blur on his shirt would help give impact to his face?
In a more fitting challenge this would have been at least a 7 from me but as I don't see the connection with the challenge it would have dropped to a 6 I think.
It's a great shot and made better (for me) as it's a candid. I took a little time to view your profile, street candids seem to be your forte - some excellent shots.

Wow, what an amazing street portrait of a very gorgeous young woman. Love the shy smile yet the confidence in her beauty in the eyes. Good use of thirds and of the ambient light, though if you had had the time during the shoot to either shoot at a higher ISO, and faster or with a smaller aperture, to help damp down those few glarey areas on her. Or try bracketing, see if that helps as in such a situation neither of you may have that much time to spare while you play with settings. It was an Advanced challenge too so some dodge and burn on the face and glarey areas would have been fine. It also looks like it would translate well to b/w.
Overall a lovely capture, keep up the good work!
Feel free to PM me
