I love that you call these self portraits. If you had called them street shots and hoped we didn't notice you, it would be an entirely different and less interesting concept. I much prefer the idea of you dissolving, collapsing, and fragmenting into your photos.

I really like the idea of your composition but there are a few things that make it less appealing for me. I personally would have liked it better if you had cropped out the dark area on the right. I feel it takes away from the beauty of your subject. Also, the bottom edge is not quite level. I really like the subtle contrast and lighting as well as the texture and shadows of the backround. Overall, this is one of my favorites.

When in NY, I always find myself wondering neighborhoods with doors like this. Taking pictures we are keenly aware of the constant changes around us. The unsolicited stuff, in various states of decay, is what I enjoy. Your series reminds me of this story in the news.
