Looks like a perfect break. Sun, wine, chips and a great looking place. I hope you took place on the empty chairs.

I was a happy carnivore until my husband suffered a heart attack and quadruple bypass 5 years ago. The cardiologist was livid and said it was totally preventable, and blamed our diet. He put my husband (and me by default) on the uber vegan Essylstein eating plan - no meat, no dairy, no eggs, no added oils, no coconuts.... if it has a face or a mother, he can't eat it. It was not an easy transition, but his health improved dramatically, and now, after five years, I do not miss rib-eyes so much. I'm not saying that it is appropriate for everyone, and I certainly don't advocate that anyone change their preferences, unless their health demands it. I still miss real cheese...

That said, I agree with Bill that our culture has totally sanitized the reality of consumption of meat. It doesn't just grow inside a foam tray with plastic covering. My kids were all in 4-H and raised various animals for market. They have all grown up being well aware of where meat comes from and what sacrifices need to occur to produce it.

I like (hmm, admire artistically) all six of your images but will comment only on this one, my favorite. It's exquisitely devastating. An appealing gloss on the carcass may be all the commentary that's called for. I won't go through all I see. The board's periphery is unnerving as well. The steel tools, so efficient, the vegetables, herbs and condiment to make it scrumptious. We know that predators kill and eat prey, and are often eaten in their turn, but we humans have developed scruples and know there are alternative ways. And yet we have canines, no denying it.

I̢۪m a vegetarian but I can hack this, it is was it is, death for food.
I would rather dine with twenty hungry meat eaters than with one vegetarian with an attitude.

There are so many obvious things that we don̢۪t face up to, I̢۪m betting some meat eaters find this image distasteful but yet...

Well I've never been to France... I like the toning effect. The image suggests food fit for a king.

My first thought was "what a magnificent rooster!" I didn't even notice the rest of the establishment. I have a little different viewpoint since I do keep chickens (and a rooster) but we don't eat them. Their job is to eat bugs in the garden. You have done an amazing job with this image.
