Interesting title. I'm assuming it's because giraffes have purple tongues, but we don't see it here. Great shot of the young lady - what an awesome smile!

That's rare air. I like the lens choice, and the way you framed this with the rocky foreground.
I have only seen this phenomena twice in the last six years or so, and three times if you include one at night around a full moon.

I like the little bit of motion bur at the edges of the bird's wings. Nicely shot but I think a tighter crop might have improved it overall, especially when we're viewing it at a small size here.
