One of the more traditional, DPC voter friendly landscapes in the challenge, but the art isn't missing, by any stretch of the imagination. Wonderful composition gives this balance... the detail in the sand is balanced by the blurred clouds... beautiful purples and blues dominate, but the hint of pink and red adds warmth.

I am divided on how to vote on entries like this. Dramatic, technically perfect landscapes like this tend to score very highly, and I feel I must give an appropriately high vote to reward the skill it took to capture them. They don't get my highest vote, however. Those are reserved for the images that make me stop to examine them more closely or that pull an emotion or memory from me. This gets a 7.
