Drew's Stop Sign Revisited by autoolComment by dodobird: This is just too funny for words! Though quoting Drew's sign revisited I may have gone more with a close up of the sign. Drew's was a very close shot. The scenery and railroad car? are beautiful, but detract away from the sign. Also, I woul dhave left a bit more space left of the sign, it is cropped just a tad too close for my liking. Overall, I just loved this shot.8. |

Drew's Stop Sign Revisited by autoolComment by tomzinho: this photo says it all. the beauty and vastness of nature against the efforts of humanity to create order on this earth, only to ultimately fail. also, a portrait of the nature of rural life - great beauty mixed with isolation and decay. even our monuments, like us, eventually return to where they came from. 10. |

un-PASTURE-izedby autoolComment by Swashbuckler: Whoa, where do I start??? I forgot, start with the positive comment. Very good focus and contrast in the central part of the pic. O.K. these are beef cows, not milk cows (99.99% certain). The standing in water part makes me shudder (I know it's not fouling the meat, but still.....). The fog off in the distance obsures the background, but not in a really good way. I really want to nick you an extra point due to the beef cows thing, but I won't. 6 Swash |

un-PASTURE-izedby autoolComment by inspzil: I don't think this has a lot to do with dairy per se, but beef is close enough. This pic the way its done in b&w reminds me of something from the 20's, pre-depression type stuff. Nicely done - Inspzil |

The Ridgeby autoolComment by autool: For those of you that may be interested we had pretty poor weather in central CA during this challenge week. It was very foggy in the valley where I live so I headed for some higher elevation. The hills of the coast range are always so dry in the summer and fall months I decided to go there to capture some of the green from recent rain. This picture was taken just south of the entrance to the Morgan Territory Regional Reserve, just east of the Oakland bay area. I waited quite awhile for the haze to lift but It only started getting thicker so this was the best I could get on this trip.
Thanks to all of you that enjoyed this picture, it has been a pleasure to share some of the west coast landscape with you.
