D4_Feb14_DSC4986by daisydavidComment by MaryO: Quirky, but kind of fun. The water seems unnaturally solid in the blue areas, but I like that effect here. The birds look a little confused and that works well with the processing. Reminds me of a scene from Mary Poppins ;-) |

Introducing grain is a tricky thing - it can either add to an image or be an unnecessary addition. Here it acts as a great compliment. It adds to the sense of grit and edgy feel that is just further accented by the very dynamic B&W tones. The birds on the wire take flight and there seems a sense of foreboding in the air. The sky is gloomy which adds to that sense of 'something is about to happen'. It makes me wonder what message will these birds deliver. |
