I like the concept and composition of this shot but for me the challenge was " ..Low key describes a mostly dark image, with few highlights..." and there isn't a definable "Highlight" in the shot which gives the perception that the shot is underexposed rather than shot low key.

If you are looking for a way to straighten that line up, check the tutorials section. There's a simple way using the measure tool in PS (if you have it). You could measure straight across to the two points at the edges of the melt area.

I like the composition and over all I like the photo. Critique wise, I'd like to see more contrast in the plants. They all same to be pretty much the same shade and the guy is the same shade. Also, if I were not a photographer I might not know what the heck the guy is doing and why he has a steel pole coming out from between his legs.
