New York Minutesby roby21112Comment by UNTITLED: This is definitely off of the beaten path for composition and the results are excellent. Phenomenal contrast and color tones as well. Excellent! |

New York Minutesby roby21112Comment by redmoon: nice! i love the yellow tones and grainy feel of the picture, it feels cinematic, very elegant and rather stylish. it's just a great example of excellent composition, really. the other cab encroaching on our view really enhances the bustle and new yorkness of the scene - lot's of lovely elements. 9. |

New York Minutesby roby21112Comment by aliqui: My eye goes straight to the blurry "walk" sign, because it's almost dead center and is the brightest element of the photo. If the background didn't have that focus point my eyes would be more inclined to focus on the girl. One thing that could be done to lighten up the lower right and bring more attention to the girl might be to brighten up the watch band? Oddly this is one of those photos that probably would have done better had it been shot 1 second later once you go through that intersection and got that walk sign out of the center.
I am going to bump my rating on this photo from my original score. It is better than average. I like the idea.. the timing was just a bit off.. |

New York Minutesby roby21112Comment by 3eyedcrow: I like this, but I think there were two ways that would have improved this image. 1) You could have exposed for light falling on her face & let the exterior get blown out. (I would probably convert to B&W for that option)or 2) Ask her to lean closer to the window so that the light on her face was closer to that on her forearm. The's a nice mood to this image. Overall, well done. |
