This makes a good study in low-key still life imagery. I like the tones and lighting angle. There is a slight bit of haloing around the pollen and the leftmost petal lacks detail, but this is basic rules and you cannot do much about it. I recommend you correct those should you chose to make a print. Great picture that should place very high.

mapplethorpe. First thing that popped into my head. The lighting on this is excellent. Makes the flower sensual. Has a lot of movement. I can see the petals unfurling while I comment. I take a lot of flower shots 'cause there easy, convenient, and don't argue. :) This one is one I would love to call my own. Excellent work. 10

Crisp edges and great DOF. I wonder if it was possible to have the base of the blossom in one third and the nobby thing in the other third. Having more dark space in the upper right might give it a more reaching effect. Excellent job. good luck
