Last I checked, it probably wasn't cool enough to have an outdoor fire this time of year in New Jersey... the things we do for challenges. Unless of course it's a barbeque pit and there was food to be had!

Good job of capturing the flames. Composition-wise, the one log that goes diagonal across the upper part of the frame tends to draw the eye most, and the background leads one to believe this was taken mid-day (which I suspect it was). I'm betting it might have been more dramatic if shot at night. All told, though, pretty good job of capturing flame which to me is a lot harder than it looks!

What an odd looking little critter! I like the way you chose to shoot this to sort of frame him with the branches and leaves. Good color throughout. As for the challenge, it may have done better had you shot from a lower angle - doesn't look as much "up" as some might have been expecting, I'm guessing. And VERY good work without a flash in low light! He does look like he could use a good shampoo, though... :-)

I scored this a 5. Overall this challenge was very uninspiring. Good focus. Lighting is a bit off but in a car what can you do. I may have cropped off more of the bottom and kept the shot as the mirror alone. Overall average shot.

I gave this a 5. Good colors and all but nothing really to focus on as the main subject (I couldnt find the jack olantern until you pointed him out and then it was a "duh" moment). Not sure really what to add as an improvement though.

For me there is not enough softness in the boys face and the B/G gives more of a blurred feel (MHO)

This almost feels like it's playing with the old sexist saw of "women doing their make-up while driving", but it's not quite playful enough for that. If that was what you were going for, I suspect you've been only partially successful. Unsure about the decision to flip the image, as well.
