my sea of tears by jmritzComment by bob350: Moody feeling conveyed by absence of bright tones, rumpled bedding, and gathering shadows makes a visual allusion perhaps more toward depression than sadness. The title gives hints about the narrative, but may not be a sufficient to anchor the viewer in this ocean. |

my sea of tears by jmritzComment by blindjustice: I like this very much, the subtle textures, the shadows an wisps of hair-perfect.
I am however, ambivalent as to the title, perhaps it says too much, but yet, it fills in and reveals a great deal as well, and thus I will defer and give the benefit of the doubt. also the crop and ratio, like so many other photos, the viewer will never know what is on the other side of the crop, and here, although you might have impact creating the feel that the "body" is smaller more sympathetic being, what is in the frame works really well. |
