She is in a trance, amidst others with fire coming through the windows, yet she is oblivious to the danger. Others are whirling about, in the same state of mind. WOW (I need more coffee after that one)

OK. I thought that was Betty Boop when I looked at the thumbnail! honest.
But now that I opened it, well it's obviously about marriage(I didn't read the explanation you provided to banmorn, because that was just something about a photographer saying how the exposure was done, not what the picture is, which can only be interpreted by the viewer)
Anyway, back to the picture. The wife is dominant and has the husband is on a leash. But we can see he's straining against that with all his might. They are tied together by their words, demonstrated by the leash in his mouth intersecting her mouth.
