A terrific image, busy yet spare, and I'm gathering that there's deep sadness in this woman. There's sympathy and empathy in her portrayal. Her placement at the edge of the photograph, bustling street life in the background, emphasizes her marginal situation. Yet her jacket flashes in the light. Black and white helps make this real. I have a feeling that this is not so much a defining moment as a descent.

If this does not take Blue, then I will be shocked. This is perfect. You have the humble, devoted Nun, with her hands riddled with age and swollen knuckles. Her posture screams of her being bent over in prayer for many years. The holding of the tin for collection. Getting the scraps of change from people. You have a person here who does transcend time, and we all know exactly what, who and how she lives her life and the purpose of life. Then there is the modern world all around her, to me, it looks so desolate compared to her. Such hurrying around, so little clothes, such disregard, almost feeling frivolous. I think this is a perfect shot. As in my mind, I see the Nun, and all sorts of stories come to mind for her backstory. This is a 10 and beyond. Well done.
