musingsby NiallOTuamaComment by Rankles: Congrats on the HM! I find myself coming back to look at this one more than most of the others in the contest, so whilst I stand by my original comments I sense they are evolving somewhat. There is something so captivating about this image and style. Well done! |

working from home by NiallOTuamaComment by tnun: I could have given this a high mark. Had I voted. Jealous that your home fog/fug/clutter/gear is way more landscaped than mine. Your scorecard is lovely too. |

musingsby NiallOTuamaComment by Rankles: This is a great composition in a difficult location and a great character shot. Love the angle, love the subject and the choice of black and white. But I absolutely hate the filter used... I'm sorry. I'm not the most old-skool here but it just doesn't look real or sincere. If a film look is desired less is more for sure. The whole image is a little over-cooked in that sense. But man am I jealous of the shot itself. I'd love to see it revisited with a different edit. Not necessarily much more different, just more natural.
EDIT Revisiting this... I've never liked in a place where the laundromat is part of daily life, but I have used one from time to time and if sitting there alone waiting for the cycle to finish is anything like waiting in a doctor's surgery or similar then I actually do kind of get that some may get a kind of peaceful stillness in waiting, especially as it's a regular chore. I'l going to judge this based on the photo itself so I'm bumping up my score as per my previous comment. |

working from home by NiallOTuamaComment by Tumbleweed: I like this photo I just don't know how it fits with the title or this weeks subject. Maybe you could have named it, underrated abstract photography! Beautiful shot. |
