I knew this would be suspected of rules breaking, and as such, probably scored a bit lower than others. There is lot of room for improvement anyway, and I learned many things by doing it, especially about lighting. Which convinces me it was well worth shooting it :-)

I don't get it! (Not the photo but the scoring - 17 votes below 5!!). I gave you an 8 though I had a slight concern that the heart may had been placed there by bending the editing rules but didn't want to vote without objective evidence, which is what I suspect some may have done.

Thanks for the details on how the shot was made and the effort gone too. Excellent photo! You were robbed of a front page IMHO.

Each time I break a pencil point I'll keep this image in mind as from now on. Never realised that such a "simple" thing like breaking a point, could produce such a great image.

Wonderful shot! Just love the starburst on the drop. If you get a chance to reshoot this, try it with a black cloth as a backdrop, as your background is still visible here and a little distracting.
