A daughter's last goodbyeby mariodubeComment by dahkota: I really like this image. I think it might have been improved if the top had been cut off at the horizon line - Currently that strong horizontal line competes with the action in the image and also cuts the image in 'half' unnecessarily. There is absolutely nothing of interest above the line and it provides nothing but distraction. With that part gone, the father is moving into an endless void so to speak, rather than one that is limited by the horizon. Hope that makes sense. I like her strong shadow and his lack of shadow - that adds an element of interest, something to be thought about. I think the toning is a little harsh - a slightly more dreamy mood may have pushed this image forward. I'll be interested in seeing more of your work when the challenge ends. |

1957 fire engineby mariodubeComment by Jutilda: I'm trying to figure out what is on the hood. It almost looks like a bird flapping its wings. I like the grungy feel of it. They don't make beasts like this any more. I like how the truck is slightly off kilter, which adds to the sense of decay and abandonment. |

1957 fire engineby mariodubeComment by Yo_Spiff: I like this, though it comes across a bit on the dark side. ("Come to the darkside Luke, we have milk and fresh cookies!") |
