I wanted to make it look like a daughter was running after her dad to tell him a last goodbye before he goes.

Picture taken at the beach.

Added brush tool on the edge of the sand to make it look like wind blowing the sand or cloudy look.

I increased the contrast.

Oh, wow. I want to know how you got this effect.

I like the B&W conversion. The comp works very well. Some ghosting artifacts around the people from post work. Don't particularly care for the (wrongly) suggestive title... All JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge.

I don't know that I will have enough time to vote on 20% of the pics so my vote may not count but for what it is worth this is a great shot. Love it. 9

If a picture says a 1000 words - then I think you got it right.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: One of my favourites in the challenge - this is a wonderfully evocative image, full of story and beautifully executed - I particularly like the swaying / blown hair of the girl and her long shadow. The processing is bold too - the lateral highlights and the confidence you have in using the negative space at the bottom of the image is a great touch too.

Critical stuff: Nothing.

Overall: Great stuff. I wish the free studies were packed with interesting images like this.

I really like this image. I think it might have been improved if the top had been cut off at the horizon line - Currently that strong horizontal line competes with the action in the image and also cuts the image in 'half' unnecessarily. There is absolutely nothing of interest above the line and it provides nothing but distraction. With that part gone, the father is moving into an endless void so to speak, rather than one that is limited by the horizon. Hope that makes sense. I like her strong shadow and his lack of shadow - that adds an element of interest, something to be thought about. I think the toning is a little harsh - a slightly more dreamy mood may have pushed this image forward. I'll be interested in seeing more of your work when the challenge ends.
