clouds give a feeling of height, which is good, but i feel there is too much cloud in the image, to the point that the mountains are almost getting lost here.

I really like the shot, but I don't get any sense of what seems to be important threads in the book: religion, race, family relationships. However, I can see that there may be a spiritual feel to this, helped by the colors. Therefore, a 6 from me.

Such an ethereally beautiful alpine landscape has nothing to do with the book and like many others in this challenge, it misses the topic by a wide margin. James Baldwin's book was a widely admired milestone in the awakening of the horrors of racism in America. This image is the antithesis of the book. Still a beautiful shot whose photographic quality saves it from the lowest rating. 4
