i feel bad that i havent commented on this .. even tho after i saw it it stayed in my head .. its just one of those images .. memorable .. as its very very beautiful .. and like i said on the one you didnt put in .. the focus on the eye is fantastic .. i think i would have to take over a hundred photos of birds to get one in focus like that .. in fact i did ... !! .. ;)
anyway ... congrats on the 5th place .. not too shabby .. lol .. :)

This is beautiful! I love photographing these birds and actually had one to enter on the last day, but was stumped by the software saying it wasn’t taken within the dates. By the time I learned how to override it, I missed the deadline. I’m glad this beautiful creature was represented in the top 5!! :)

Thanks Don. Shutter speed was 1/1600. I worked out when shooting in the rain to have it over 1/1000 that way the rain is more defined.
