I love how the title adds to the piece. Helps set the mood of a sorrowed pirate. I like how you included his tatoos into the portrait, to make him more of a ruffian.

Held my hand up to cover half the face. Covering the beard gives the appearance of a young man. Covering the top it looks like an old man... Neat!

Striking image, i have spent a lot of time looking at this image. Overall i really like it but i couldn't figure out what i didn't like. I don't like the patch over the eye as it is too vivid and the shape is not what i would consider an authentic patch. The processing is really good but i would like to see it in an earthy colour (im probably thinking too much of pirates and the Caribbean)
Like i say that's all that i could find to critique in what is an excellent image.
