Waitingby Luci11eComment by ubique: This is nice. Right hand quarter confuses me a bit but that's OK with me. |

Waitingby Luci11eComment by tanguera: At first I thought this was a gourd of some sort and couldn't figure out how that was "country". Then I thought maybe some OTHER country. Then I finally figured out that it was the horn of a saddle. Beautiful saddle abstract, although the blurred elements behind it - especially the one on the far right - are a bit distracting, even if they add depth. |

Waitingby Luci11eComment by xodiak: Choosing to make this shot black and white was a great idea. I immediately found this shot interesting because of the contrast, even before I realized what the object was. |

A Ray of Sunshineby Luci11eComment by MelonMusketeer: Hi Lorie! I am not sure what went wrong with this in the voting, but I would have given it at least a 5.5 or so. I have found that keeping the subject very simple helps with scoring here at DPC. That may have been the situation with this one.

Want Coffeeby Luci11eComment by Ja-9: nice colors...IMO I think I could have cropped out the tree in the upper right corner...but it really doesn't take away from the picture |

Sunset at Buchannaby Luci11eComment by MelonMusketeer: I shoot a lot of sunset scenes like this one, and have found that the sky will often reward you with a magic color burst if you can stay and keep shooting until the light is almost completely gone. The light along the horizon gets redder and the sky gets bluer until about 20 minutes after the actual "sunset" moment.
I like the layers in this. It's dock, water, dock, land, sky. |
