Falling Apart, Brick by Brickby MeMex2Comment by Lydia: I don't think the extra words in the title were worth the DNMC of the challenge rule. I hope the voters are kind to you.
I like the image, but wish that blue part had been either removed or desaturated so it's not overwhelming the wall.

Bowlerby MeMex2Comment by benhur: nice figure in the foreground, not too sure about the shadow / person in the back ground, it detracts from the main subject |

Wish You Were Hereby MeMex2Comment by CNovack: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
You captured wonderful detail in the face of this gorilla. You even have some nice catchlights/glow in the eyes. This is a good shot that has vast potential to be a stunning shot just with changing two things. The first is crop - bring us/me closer to your subject. The backdrop does nothing for the composition -draw us in closer to this great primate. I would go for a square crop where the face fills 90 to 95% of the frame. Let your audience really peer into his eyes. Second, I think this could use a bit of levels & curves or contrast adjustment to get some depth to the shadows and highlights in the shot. They seem just a tad flat and I know the black tones could be deeper. |
