This is a great shot, and it is true... each table has a possible story that everyone's imagination will tell differently.

I think the guy smoking the cigarette and reading the paper is the a-hole boss of the man looking at him in disdain from the middle table. He just happened to show up at the same spot for a bit of breakfast and coffee, which has ruined our center man's morning already. Naturally the two men at the table to the far right are the French FBI keeping their eyes on the same a-hole boss while the case is building (unbeknownst to our disgruntled hard working center man).
