Midnight Hauntedby pjotre7Comment by MaryO: I guess there's sort of an aura around the scene ... still not a big fan of the processing. Just doesn't appeal to me. |

No flowers in the backyard yet!!by pjotre7Comment by Crisik: I can imagine the place was like that but finding an angle more simple would help, i would surely sacrifice the most left shack (even the bird house) and add a bit of sky. Or may be sacrifice both left shacks and central focus and add more of the house on the right... it's actually quite eye catching, but something is not as is should be, imho. |

Iceframeby pjotre7Comment by Cory: Sorry!! I had to vote a 1 here though. My reason was that your photograph didn't show any distinct foreground or background framing of your main subject. Essentially your subject is in the same plane as your frame, actually your frame is your subject..
Per this comment, and this comment, plus a private message, I have decided to give you a new score, It is now a 3 for the other qualities of this image (despite what I feel is still a DNMC image). Now go thank Bear_Music for he does make good sense sometimes, or at least inspires me to be a bit more open minded (or at least punish people slightly less for what I see as either shoehorning or a failure to take a reasonably literal interpretation of the rules..) |

Midnight Hauntedby pjotre7Comment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives:What a strange an eerie scene. Although the trees have a highly processed look, the subtle coloration of the house serves to tone down the whole image. The sense of moonlight is very well communicated.
Negative stuff: I still wonder whether the trees are a little overdone for an optimal look.
Overall: A very effective image and one that makes a strong contribution to the variety in this month's Free Study. |

Midnight Hauntedby pjotre7Comment by gyaban: Very blurry, banding effects in the shades of gray, too contrasted, weak resolution... sorry, I don't like it. |
