This was the original and looking at the score i'd better submitted this one.
The white is not overprocessing but genuine snow on a sunny day . Used Topaz detail "midnight" to get the dark haunted feel. Too bad only a few people could "feel" with me..

"Night" and day
This photograph lends itself perfectly for this kind of processing.
I awaited at least a +5 as a final score for this entry.

Wonderful tension between feelings of snow, moonlight, and just plain imagination. |

Nice job on the processing. It definitely gives it a haunted feel. |

not sure if you tried to make this into a painting effect or you over sharpened the picture...very different |

I guess there's sort of an aura around the scene ... still not a big fan of the processing. Just doesn't appeal to me. |

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives:What a strange an eerie scene. Although the trees have a highly processed look, the subtle coloration of the house serves to tone down the whole image. The sense of moonlight is very well communicated.
Negative stuff: I still wonder whether the trees are a little overdone for an optimal look.
Overall: A very effective image and one that makes a strong contribution to the variety in this month's Free Study. |

Very blurry, banding effects in the shades of gray, too contrasted, weak resolution... sorry, I don't like it. |
