This is a nice macro shot!

Unless I read your title I would have had no idea as to what I was looking at! You did shoot this very well. I am finding that I am tilting my head to make it centered though, so a tighter crop on the left hand side to center it would have helped with this.

You have a good DOF going on here starting at the handle (?) and leading our eyes to the center. You did well with your light bounce as well.

There is not a lot you could have done in post processing that you didn't all ready do, but maybe just a little more contrast to give it some depth.

Overall, the comments that you received are pretty much spot on.

I like and angle and the DOF. I like the lighting. Perhaps cropping out the upper third would give a stronger composition.

I don't know why this picture doesn't work for me. It's a nice perspective and a decent execution, maybe because it isn't completely centered, maybe more contrast or harsher light would have helped, 5
