Sagittarius - The Mighty Archerby Alex_PetriniComment by Lydia: Originally posted by snaffles: The legs are all wrong, but at least it's a real centaur and not the travesty depicted elsewhere in this challenge. 7 |
Ouch! Ha! Sorry! It was a joke, Snaffles, not meant to offend you. :D

Sagittarius - The Mighty Archerby Alex_PetriniComment by CNovack: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
The night background is very nicely put together. The human half of the Sagittarius archer is fabulous from the pose to the lighting. The area of the composition that needs a little more work to improve on the composition is the horse half of Sagittarius and way the light falls on the rock shelf he stands upon. First off there is just something that does not appear right about the proportion of the horse half - it torso and back end just seems a little too small or compressed. I could be wrong but to my eye, the back half is like that of a small pony rather than the full sized horse needed to support the weight of the human half. The other thing that would improve on the composition if you used something with actual hair that would have been put in place of the plastic tail. It would just add more realism to the scene. Lastly, the lighting on the underside of the rock shelf is too bright and doesn't match up with the lighting seen from the other rocks in the distance or the human half of Sagittarius. The position of the light the falls upon those elements is shining down from the top right corner. Still, a good effort and well composed. |
