Bass linesby keyzComment by dustingooding: Meets Challenge: 3 of 3.
Technical: 2 of 3. I'd almost say you could crop the top at/near her eyebrow and bring a more focus on the bass. As it is, my eye is very interested in the textures of that pillow.
Emotion: 2 of 3. A long day of jamming will make you want to lay down. Especially with that pillow in the shot, I want to see her more tired or exhausted from playing... less placidly posing.
Awe: 0 of 1. |

Enlightenmentby keyzComment by salmiakki: Greetings from the Critique Club
First of all, let me congratulate you for getting such a good score in this challenge, it was well deserved.
I did not vote in this challenge but would likely have voted 7 or 8 as I really like this image a lot.
I do think however, that for a few of the voters they were not seeing the deep DOF very well and that's likely why you didn't score even higher.
I love the lighting, the composition and the muted colours are excellent. It's certainly a very interesting building.
I found it quite difficult to critique this image well, because I like the image so much.
Well done again. |

Twisted familyby keyzComment by glad2badad: Rubber bands? This photo is growing on me a little seeing it on the second look while commenting. I like the texture and that you've kept the arrangement of items strategically placed, but not strictly uniform. Only nit from me is I wish the 3 bands in front (starting with red/white and going left) were all crisply focused, then let the back ones fade out. Lighting on the top could be just a tad strong. Good luck in the challenge. Small bump in score after second look. |

Twisted familyby keyzComment by Jaded_Housewife: *not voting as I'm in this challenge-just commenting since I've seen requests for comments in the challenge thread*
Took me a moment realize these were rubber bands. I thought they were some sort of foam at first. Very nice colors and clarity. The background is a nice crisp white and the black border is great too. not sure about the white inner border but that's my only nitpick. |

Twisted familyby keyzComment by AVP: nice colors and interesting subject. lighting too bright as right side distracts, closer crop would be better. |

Burned landby keyzComment by keyz: jmsetzler: you are right, I had other ideas but not enough time to use them. So I took a "default" choice.
But I'm still quite happy with this shot : I'm not use to create and compose photos in DPC style, so for a new experiment I take it as "not so bad".
I'll try to involve myself harder for the next shots.
Thanks for the critique. |
