The Bell Jarby grahamgatorComment by Tiny: Not sure if it is or not but this looks very false ? Without the butterfly if may have been a decent image.3. |

The Bell Jarby grahamgatorComment by RKT: 6...It's a nice enough image, the sharpness of the butterfly is fabulous, but I see nothing of the referenced book really. I suppose this could be metaphorical, but I would at least expect to see and actual bell jar. Technically, some of the darks seem too dark, loosing information in the shadows, particularly in the ground and the area at the top of the jar. |

The Bell Jarby grahamgatorComment by Tiberius: There is something that I like about it. There is also something that does not work well. The jar looks more like a glass hence a feeling that the butterfly can easily fly away. The butterfly also looks as it is on the glass rather then captive inside. I would have also cloned out some of the leaves on the corners. The contrast and colors look fine. 5 |

The Bell Jarby grahamgatorComment by lunachicken: An interesting shot that I don't feel ties to the story well. I like the darker tones, and the curious nature of the prop. Would like to see it more centered, and maybe framed better by the plants if possible. 6 |

The Bell Jarby grahamgatorComment by tvsometime: Haven't read it but this looks like a bell jar, and the butterfly might represent something about Sylvia Plath's spirituality, and the shot is well done. Giving the benefit of the doubt (due to my ignorance) my vote is a 6 |

The Bell Jarby grahamgatorComment by eniko: You've captured not only the essence of being trapped, but I also feel that the external colors contrast well with the butterfly to create a feeling of depression and darkness. The choice of butterfly is good, as it bears resemblance to the fragile protagonist in the novel, albeit that I'm not sure that I visualized her as this colorful. A 7 from me. |
