Great capture! Just as well you got it in flight as I̢۪m sure there would be too much camera shake from the ground movement after it landed.

This is a great capture and the colours a wonderful. I do think it would be worthwhile to clone out the bright spot on the flower bud as I find myself being drawn to it. Great details of the feathers.

sigh...just lost my note...

1) fabulous picture...I really think this should have scored much higher...

2) I have a 70-300mm Nikon...it seems slow and I don't achieve the clarity/sharpness that I would really like to have. Occasionally I'll get the good sharp one but over all I feel that they are just "soft" in the focus

3) of your lens' which one is your favorite/go to...why

4) best price point???

I would really value your opinion

First thing I noticed what what Alice mentioned - the "arms" wrapped around the stem. Don't know how I thought they held on, but this surprised me. I hate grasshoppers - but he's kinda cute :)

Well, birds have to eat too, and this grasshopper looks like a nice meal.
Excellent detail including those 'arms' wrapped around the stem.

I like the blank BG, I think a BG filled with grass or other things would take away from the dude. Gosh, really great work with catching this with your long lens! The details come through very nice.
